Reviews from Readers

The quality of the prose is what leaps out first - so enjoyable that the book could be about almost anything, but the subject matter is also fascinating. And it raises profound philosophical questions. Alternate history is a treacherous field to write in but the author handles it deftly and insinuates magic into every pore of it. Highly, highly recommended.

The Illusionaires was an alternative history/fantasy fiction which had a unique and compelling plot. I read the book in a frenzied rush waiting to know what happened next The writing style was articulate and witty. The tone of the book was both serious and intriguing. The narration was fast-paced, and the plot was engaging as it kept changing as the story progressed. The characters were all quirky and had shades of grey in them.

By now we all know that there's more to history than what we're told... but what if magic--real magic--was one of the currents influencing the most crucial events of our times? In this wild ride of a novel, three generations of master illusionists wield their art in an audacious bid to shape our world for the better. The historical settings are rich with intrigue, the action is fast and surprising, and the characters are sharply drawn and thought-provoking. A fascinating read based on a brilliant premise.
